FIREARM PROFICIENCY FOR SECURITY OFFICERS FIREARM PROFICIENCY FOR: RETIRED FEDERAL OR OUT-OF-STATE PEACE OFFICERS LETTERS FROM STUDENTS Tim, I just wanted to drop you a quick note and tell you how much I enjoyed your class. I have been to several of these classes ( primarily Minnesota) and each time it seemed that trainers wanted to inject opinion more than fact, so I appreciated the facts that you gave us. I also agree that I’ll be damned if I am going to buy pants bigger than I need to carry a weapon in the waistband, my pants are big enough now. I am also impressed that after 9 years of being a deputy sheriff in Iowa (all be it it was the 70’s and things were different then) that you in a simple example convinced me it might be smart to tell an investigator or any law enforcement agency that I defended myself as a victim and not a suspect, so that was a good lesson. I will still call an attorney right after that simple explanation to the officer if god forbid it would ever come to that. I did appreciate you taking the time to fingerprint me for my Florida Conceal Carry permit. Again, thank you for taking boredom out of 10 hours of classroom, very informative. You covered a ton of information in such a way that I won't have any trouble retaining what I learned. I commend you on your patience and your ability to make each class seem like it's the only class you teach. It would be easy to allow the repetition to make the class redundant & verbatim. I'm willing to bet that you hear the same questions, discussions, concerns and debates in every class. Not once did you let on that, maybe, you had encountered such a question, discussion, concern or debate previously. I cannot thank you enough for getting me on the right track. Lisa asked me before I went into qualify if I was nervous. No, I wasn't! Not one bit. Your staff was very knowledgeable and not at all intimidating. They willingly helped with my questions and offered advice when I didn't know enough to ask a proper question. Amy Newton
